This is a video of an amoeba engulfing two paramecia.
It is fairly easy for any person to dismiss the issue of thought processes or cognition when they watch this video as it has long been scientifically agreed that such protists, being single cell organisms without brains, only respond to stimuli but has no intelligence.
It is worth a thought on why there is a panic scene, a behaviour, a perception as to what is going on, and have instincts without a brain. The macronucleus in the paramecia seem to be the closest to a brain as it is the governing the activities of the cell.
Is it not viable to think that consciousness exists considering that all response or reflexes requires at least awareness or realisation?
